Cooler, Smarter Salvation delivered through Stronger Community Grant
Vital community services delivered by the Salvation Army are about to become a whole lot smarter and cooler thanks to an $8,000 grant announced today by hard-working Capricornia MP, Michelle Landry.
Ms Landry said the funding, delivered as part of the fourth round of the Federal Government’s very popular Stronger Communities Programme, would help the North Rockhampton Service continue to grow their services.
“I am thrilled to be able to deliver this funding for our local Salvos. “The work they do within our community in CQ is just amazing and to be able to support their fundraising is a good result for them and for the Government.
“I am certain this new freezer and smart whiteboard will allow them to better deliver the myriad services the Salvos are so famous for.
“Thousands of Central Queenslanders find themselves in a desperate situation each year in Central Queensland and when they do, our community organisations, like The Salvation Army, are there to put their arm around them and help them get their life back on track.
“As I often say, it takes a lot of sausages to raise $8,000, which highlights how important small grants like this are for community organisations.
“Every dollar we can deliver to help augment the tenacious fundraising efforts of this organisation is a dollar they can spend on delivering their services, helping more Central Queenslanders.” Ms Landry said.
