Senator the Hon Mitch Fifield, Minister for the Arts and Michelle Landry, Member for Capricornia invite regional artists, arts workers and organisations in Capricornia to apply for Festivals Australia funding.
Approximately $1.2 million is available each financial year for arts and cultural projects that celebrate local artistic talent and increase audience engagement.
“This program funds festivals, parades and community celebrations in regional and remote areas. I encourage organisations with the capacity to deliver events to apply for funding,” said Ms Landry.
“Our region is filled with an immense pool of creative talent and a growing event and festival culture.
“This is a terrific opportunity to plan and grow high quality arts experiences for people living in Capricornia.
“This is particularly important for regional areas like Capricornia to grow the cultural tourism experience.”
Minister Fifield said the program is an example of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting a vibrant arts and culture sector in regional areas.
“The Turnbull Government is proud to fund programs such as this to ensure regional and remote audiences have access to high quality artistic experiences where they live,” Minister Fifield said.
“The program gives audiences access to a diverse range of art forms and ensures Australian artists and performers gain wider exposure for their work.”
Applications for this funding round close on Friday, 20 October 2017.
