Passionate Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry has slammed the Palaszczuk Labor State Government for its rushed passing of vegetation management legislation in Queensland Parliament today.
“Labor has struck a heavy blow to the future prosperity of the agriculture sector today by rushing this ridiculous legislation through the parliament.
“Central Queensland is home to the famous Brigalow Belt, a hugely productive region of grazing and farming land, made so by broad scale development over many decades.
“Just days out from Beef Australia, this out of touch Labor Governemnt has sold our region down the river for the sake of pandering to green voters in the South East.” Ms Landry said.
“I am absolutely disgusted at the way Labor has rammed this legislation through, even silencing rigorous debate in parliament.”
“This legislation will have a lasting and damaging effect on the future prosperity of our regional and rural communities,” said Ms Landry.
“They deserve better and they deserve an explanation from their local Labor members.”
